The Bioscope is proud to once again partner with Alliance Française in Johannesburg to bring you the best in French Cinema every month from Sep 2025 until July 2026.
The Joburg French Cine Club will be on the second Thursday of every month. (With the exception of January 2025)
Please join us from 6:30pm where your R100 ticket will include a complementary glass of wine. The film will then be screened at 7pm and will feature a short introduction.

THURS 15 Jan 7pm: L’amour et les forêts (Just The Two Of Us) BOOK NOW. A 2023 Cannes Film Festival Selection. The film follows Blanche Renard, who meets Greg Lamoureux and believes he is the one. However, she soon finds herself caught up in a toxic relationship with a possessive and dangerous man.
THURS 12 Feb 7pm: Sur les chemins noirs (On The Wandering Paths) BOOK NOW. Pierre is a famous writer and explorer. But one drunken night, a terrible fall leaves him in a coma. When he wakes up, barely standing up and against everyone’s advice, he decides to explore France on foot, along the smallest paths.
