Brief Stories is a programme of the National Audiovisual Institute of Argentina, that selects and funds the production of short films from new, upcoming filmmakers. The programme has been in place since 1995, and many famous directors from Argentina (Pablo Trapero, Lucrecia Martel, Daniel Burman) have made their first steps through it. We will be watching a selection of short films from the programme. More info in the booking link.
La Creciente (The Surge). Matia, an underprivileged kid, flees to a group of islands of the Parana River. In unfamiliar territory, he tries to rebuild his life, but tension on the island generated from his arrival forces Matia to revert his criminal past. Once again he is faced with the notion of escaping to survive.
